A custom domain is different from your shop domain in that you can avoid the .atshop.io
suffix. Meaning your shop can be accessed by customers from say exampleshop.com
instead of exampleshop.atshop.io
.
To get started with using a custom domain for your shop, you'll need to make sure that you have the Business or Enterprise plan as these are the only plans that support custom "non-.atshop.io
" domains.
Getting started from scratch
Once your domain is registered, you'll need to transfer it over to CloudFlare. You can do this by following CloudFlare's onboarding guide.
Add a CNAME record to your newly set up CloudFlare domain. Use
@
as the record name andcustom.atshop.io
as the record target domain name.Go to the "Crypto" page on CloudFlare, and ensure your SSL setting is set to
Full
. And your "Always use HTTPS" setting is set toOn
Add your domain name to your shop in your shop settings. (See the "Domain" tab on the settings page)
Once that's done, you should be able to access your shop from your newly registered domain. 👍
Subdomains (optional)
You can either have your shop accessible at your custom domain root (exampleshop.com
) or by a subdomain (store.exampleshop.com
). To do this, use your desired subdomain in place of the @
symbol in the previous step. So when you want your users to find your shop by store.exampleshop.com
, you would use store
in place of @
, Be sure to also update your configured domain in your shop settings to match your new CNAME record. Which would be store.exampleshop.com
instead of exampleshop.com
.
